Jockey Royston Ffrench wins his 2nd Chengdu-Dubai Intl Cup

Royston Ffrench, a jockey from the United Kingdom, won the 2,218-meter Chengdu-Dubai International Cup at the 4th Chengdu Dubai International Cup Wenjiang-Meydan Classic on April 2 at the Jinma racecourse in Wenjiang district, Chengdu, Sichuan province.
Ffrench won the race at the first competition in 2014.
The 4th Chengdu Dubai International Cup Wenjiang-Meydan Classic includes five major races: the Wenjiang Sprint (1,400 meters), Guangsha Mile (1,600 meters), Meydan Handicap (2,418 meters), Wenjiang Meydan Classic (1,600 meters) and Chengdu-Dubai International Cup.
Jockeys from the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates and Brazil were among those who competed during the one-day event.
Chinese jockeys participated for the first time this year. Five Chinese jockeys competed against visiting internationals in the Wenjiang Sprint and Guangsha Mile.
Wang Wenxun, 21, of Guizhou province, won the Wenjiang Sprint race.
"This is the first time I competed with foreign jockeys. I am so excited to win the race," Wang said.
