BEIJING -- A book including extracts of Chinese President Xi Jinping's discourses on youth and the work of the Chinese Communist Youth League (CCYL) has been published by the Central Party Literature Press.
The 189 paragraphs of discourses are extracted from over 40 major speeches, instructions, congratulatory letters, and reply letters dating from Nov. 29, 2012 to May 3, 2017.
The discourses expound on the major theoretical and practical issues concerning youth and the work of the CCYL under the new situation. They also point out the historical mission and paths of growth for contemporary youth.
The book consists of eight subjects, which include leading the youth to establish and practice socialist core values, encouraging them to study and work hard for the realization of the "Chinese Dream," and urging the CCYL to carry out work according to the overall work situation of the Communist Party of China and the government.
Some of the discourses are published for the first time.
