The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council on Tuesday condemned the Taiwan authority for "arbitrarily persecuting” people who support peaceful unification.
Four members of the New Party on the island were taken away by Taiwan authorities for investigation and their houses were searched for suspicion of violating the "security law” on Tuesday.
An Fengshan, spokesman of the Taiwan Affairs Office, said the New Party always sticks to the one-China policy and pushes forward peaceful unification.
