MACAO -- Macao welcomed over 1.21 million visitor arrivals during the Spring Festival holiday, up 26.6 percent over the corresponding period of last year, the special administrative region's tourism office said Monday.
Macao Government Tourism Office said during the Spring Festival holiday from Feb. 4 to Feb 10, a total of 1,213,487 visitor arrivals were recorded in Macao.
The day of Feb 7 saw the highest number of arrivals, with 226,874 arrivals recorded, up 22.6 percent year-on-year.
The tourism office said the surge in visitor arrivals was attributed mainly to different favorable factors such as the diversity of spectacular events and festivals, the launch of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, as well as the pleasant weather.
