Building fire kills 1 in Hong Kong

HONG KONG - A fire broke out in Wan Chai of Hong Kong Island on Saturday, leaving one dead and several others injured, the information services department of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government said.
The fire broke out at a building unit in Wan Chai Road Saturday morning, which was under control at 9:47 am and mostly put out at 10:25 am local time, the department said in a statement.
A fireman and seven people were injured and sent to the hospital where one of the injured was found dead.
The firemen applied one jet and four breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze, with a total of 106 people being evacuated, the statement said.
