Senior political advisor hails role of magazine in promoting national reunification

BEIJING - Senior Chinese political advisor Gao Yunlong Monday said the magazine Reunification Forum has played an important role in advancing the course of peaceful national reunification.
Gao is vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and deputy head of the China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification (CCPPNR).
Sponsored by the CCPPNR, Reunification Forum began publication 30 years ago.
The magazine has been holding high the banner of patriotism and promoting the Taiwan policies made by the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Gao said at a symposium celebrating the 30th anniversary of the publication of the magazine in Beijing.
Gao said the magazine has become an important front for Chinese people to oppose "Taiwan independence". He expressed his hope that the magazine will accurately grasp the political direction and make continuous efforts to raise the quality of the magazine.
