Necessary emergency rescue equipment and facilities should be available at public places across China, according to a draft law submitted to China's top legislature for review on Monday.

The regulation was included in the draft law on promotion of basic medical and healthcare, which was submitted to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for the fourth review.

The latest draft also included other regulations to improve public health services, including improving pre-marital healthcare services, and providing basic rehabilitation services for the physically challenged, according to NPC's Constitution and Law Committee.

The public has been calling for improving installing of emergency rescue equipment, such as automated external defibrillator, in public places to save people in cases of emergency following a number of reports of fatal cases in public places recently.
