BEIJING - China's Ministry of Education has unveiled a guideline to strengthen administrative law enforcement to deal with illegal enrollment, illegal charges and cheating in national exams.
The guideline demands educational authorities above the county level to investigate illegal schools, illegal issuance of academic certificates, teachers' illegal behaviors and misappropriation of education funds.
The parents and legal guardians who fail to send school-age children or adolescents to receive compulsory education would also be investigated, according to the guideline.
The guideline also asks local educational authorities to improve law enforcement bodies and the quality of law enforcement teams.
