Hubei cancels TOEFL, GRE, IELTS tests set for Feb
All TOEFL, GRE and IELTS tests in Hubei province in February will be canceled amid the ongoing pneumonia outbreak, test administrators said on Saturday.
Following directives of the Chinese government against the novel coronavirus, and after consultation with the National Education Examinations Authority under the Ministry of Education, ETS, the administrator of TOEFL and GRE, and the British Council, administrator of IELTS, will return full test fees to test takers' accounts, and test takers can apply to transfer the money to their bank account from Jan 31.
Test takers who have registered for tests outside of Hubei province can also log onto their NEEA account and cancel their test scheduled for February. A full refund will be credited to their account and test takers can apply to transfer the money to their bank account from Jan 31, they said.
"We will pay close attention to the latest updates of anti-epidemic measures issued by relevant central and local government authorities and the institutions hosting the tests, and adjust our registration and testing arrangements accordingly and in a timely manner," they added.
