Tongan ambassador lauds China's efforts to combat virus
Editor's note: Tonga's ambassador to China Tau'aika 'Uta'atu expressed his deep appreciation through a letter written on Feb 13 for the commitment and efforts that have been made by the Chinese government, doctors and medics to control the novel coronavirus.
In this winter, we witnessed the COVID-19 virus wreaking havoc but we also witnessed the strong will and perseverance of the Chinese people. We experienced discrimination and cruelty. But we also saw humanity and compassion.
We are here! Chinese people, we stand with you. We pray for Wuhan and for China.
Winter is already here, spring is just around the corner. Have faith, we will win this together.
Much love from the ambassador and the staff of the embassy of the kingdom of Tonga to the People's Republic of China.
