Recovered virus patients donate plasma to research
Three people who have recovered from novel coronavirus pneumonia volunteered to donate their blood plasma at Qingyuan People's Hospital in South China's Guangdong province on Friday.
The three are the province's first donors of the blood plasma for epidemic control.
Among them are a man and woman, both 19-year-old local residents. They were discharged after being treated at the hospital for more than 10 days, according to a report from the local Qingyuan Daily.
The man and woman declined to give their names and said they hoped their blood plasma donation would be used in medical research to help save more patients infected with the deadly disease.
Another male blood plasma donor said he hoped more patients with NCP would soon be cured and discharged from hospital.
A local doctor from the hospital in Qingyuan, located about 100 kilometers away from Guangzhou, said the blood plasma from the convalescent NCP patients would help cure the infectious disease.
