Chinese experts make English-language videos on psychological therapy for COVID-19

CHANGSHA -- A group of Chinese medical experts have made a series of English-language video programs on psychological therapy for COVID-19 and shared valuable experience with foreigners.
In the programs, five experts addressed in fluent English various psychological issues such as how to make medical personnel at the frontline feel safe and how to perform psychological intervention properly. They also offered their advice on sleeping, diet and emotion management amid the epidemic.
"Amid a sudden outbreak, it is equally important to give sound psychological intervention and treatment to patients and medical staff," said Wang Xiaoping, director of the psychiatry department of the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University.
The video programs were first sent to foreign experts working in Central China's Hunan province. Many of them have shared the videos with their family members and friends overseas.
The programs have also been posted on various online platforms, benefiting nearly 500,000 foreign experts working in China.
