The World Marselan Day is marked on April 27.
In 1961, Paul Truel of the French Academy of Agricultural Sciences used Cabernet Sauvignon to hybridize with Grenache to obtain a new cross Marselan.
At present, China is the largest planting area of Marselan after France.
Nowadays, Marselan is already performing very well in the eastern foot of Helan Mountain, Ningxia Hui autonomous region.
The wine produced, purple and black, is deep in color, with rich aroma, such as litchi, dried litchi, raspberry, roasted nut and vanilla. It has high tannins content, fine texture and aging potential.
The eastern foot of Helan Mountain is perfect place for Marselan!
