Xinjiang schools switch on online classes

URUMQI - Schools in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region have moved classes online amid the COVID-19 epidemic, local education authority said Tuesday.
Students from elementary schools, junior and senior high schools in the region can study online through TVs and the Internet from Sept 1.
Xinjiang education institute has released a live online teaching schedule from Sept 1 to 4.
Local telecom enterprise Xinjiang Broadcast Network began to provide free broadband and TV services since Aug 21, providing free educational resources for students.
The delay of the autumn semester in Xinjiang was announced by local education authority on Aug 26. The delay applies to all the kindergartens, elementary schools, junior and senior high schools in the region.
