Retail firms pledge donations to flooded central province

A group of retail firms has pledged to make donations in cash and material supplies to disaster-stricken people in Central China's Henan province on Wednesday, after heavy rainfall caused casualties and property losses.
Leading sportswear firm Anta Sports Group has promised to donate a total of 50 million yuan ($7.72 million) in cash and in equipment and materials to support frontline aid efforts and help residents in the affected areas to recover.
The Beijing-based retailer Wumart Group announced on Wednesday it is giving 20 million yuan in cash and materials to aid the province and has allocated its supply chains to transport daily supplies to the flooded areas.
