Stranded tourists transferred out of Inner Mongolia


All stranded tourists have been transferred from Ejine Banner of Inner Mongolia autonomous region to different destinations, local officials said on Tuesday.
Since the first batch of 586 tourists were transferred from the banner to Zhengzhou, Henan province, on Oct 27, all the 9,553 tourists stranded by a COVID-19 outbreak in the banner had left as of Tuesday afternoon, Sarenchimeg, deputy director of the region's health commission said at a Tuesday news conference.
All the tourists will be put under 14-day quarantine for medical observation after they arrive at different destinations.
The region reported six new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, all in Ejine Banner, the health commission said on Wednesday.
The banner has conducted the ninth round of nucleic acid testing for all residents from early Tuesday and 28,825 samples had been collected as of Tuesday noon.
