Enterprises engaged in the processing or sale of imported fabrics — wholesale or retail— were ordered to suspend shipments into Yiwu, Zhejiang province, on Sunday to control the spread of the coronavirus, according to local authorities. Yiwu is known as a commodities supermarket.
A batch of imported fabric was found with a high percentage of positive results on Friday in Zhejiang, posing a risk of viral transmission from fabrics to humans.
Meanwhile, enterprises that may still have fabrics in stock that were imported after Nov 1 were asked to report the inventory to Yiwu Market Supervision and Administration Bureau.
