Diplomats from 14 countries, including New Zealand and Namibia, visited Yeyahu National Wetland Park in Beijing's Yanqing district to learn about China's wetland conservation, experiences and practices on Tuesday.
The visit was a warm-up activity for the upcoming 14th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, with the main sessions to take place in Wuhan, the capital of Central China's Hubei province, in November.
Elia Kaiyamo, Namibia's ambassador to China, said: "I am very much impressed with the wetland in China. ... China is always leading in all aspects of life, and we hope to learn from China so that we also can do better in Africa, particularly Namibia."
