The Chongqing-Thailand Economic and Trade Conference was held in Chongqing's Lianglu Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone on Sept 10. 

Eighteen prominent Thailand enterprises and nearly 70 enterprises from Chongqing participated in the conference. 

Najjsiri Nimyizhune, deputy consul general of Thailand in Chengdu, highlighted Chongqing's role as the operational center for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and its alignment with northern Thailand's regional development. She hopes the conference would further enhance Chongqing-Thailand relations and provide new opportunities for collaboration. 

Ye Lina, deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, noted that the economic and trade relationship between Chongqing and Thailand is gaining momentum. Chongqing welcomes Thai enterprises to take advantage of the city's strengths and elevate Chongqing-Thailand cooperation. 

Five Thai enterprises presented their core competencies and cooperation intentions during the conference. Several preliminary cooperation agreements were reached, particularly in the agricultural sector. 

From January to July this year, Chongqing-Thailand imports and exports surged by 27.8 percent year-on-year, while Chongqing's actual investment in Thailand increased 13-fold. 

Chongqing Lianglu Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone is the only special customs supervision area in inland China that integrates port and airport functions. It hosts nine designated entry ports for importing grains, meat, fruit, and other commodities. 

The bonded zone serves as a comprehensive logistics hub and an industrial platform for opening up Chongqing. According to a representative of the bonded zone, its well-established logistics system and optimized investment environment offer vast cooperation opportunities for Chongqing and Thai enterprises.
