He has received numerous awards, such as the "China Youth May Fourth Medal", the China Youth Science and Technology Award, the China Young Scientist Award, the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award, and the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Progress Award. In 2021, he was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, founded in 1739 and based in Stockholm, Sweden, is one of the oldest academies of sciences in the world. The academy is responsible for awarding prestigious international academic prizes, including the Nobel Prizes in chemistry and physics, according to its website.
