Cultural creations made by Chinese women with disabilities showcased at UN headquarters
Representatives from UN Women and other international organizations, along with guests from around the world, visited the exhibition and praised the cultural and artistic value embodied in the works. Foreign delegates engaged in conversations with attending staff while visiting the exhibition, learning about the stories behind the exhibits and gaining insights into China's innovative efforts and positive practices in promoting employment and entrepreneurship for women with disabilities and safeguarding the rights of people with disabilities.
They lauded China's remarkable achievements in ensuring the equal participation of persons with disabilities in society and helping them realize their full potential, saying these offer valuable experience for the global disability community.
China will continue to uphold humanitarian principles, promote the high-quality development of disability-related programs, and deepen international exchanges and cooperation, Li Dongmei, vice-chairperson of the China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF), emphasized during discussions with international representatives. She added that China will work together with the global community to foster a more inclusive, equitable, and beautiful world in which every people with disabilities can live and thrive.
