China hopes Cambodia and Thailand will resolve disputes through dialogue

China sincerely hopes that Cambodia and Thailand will resolve their disputes through dialogue, and Beijing is also willing to continue playing a constructive role according to the needs of the two neighbors, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Saturday.
When briefing reporters about China's role on the border dispute between Cambodia and Thailand, Wang said China always upholds an impartial, fair, and just stance, and hopes the two countries will coexist peacefully and join hands to seek common development.
When briefing China on the current situation at the border, both countries have expressed willingness to manage the situation and cool down tensions, and avoid escalating and complicating their disputes, Wang said as he wrapped up visit to Malaysia for the ASEAN Plus foreign ministers' meetings.
Cambodia and Thailand are neighbors that cannot be separated, and their shared interests far outweigh their differences, he said.
China has always placed developing its relationship with Cambodia and Thailand at the priority of its neighborhood diplomacy, Wang said, adding that he has reached consensus with his counterparts from both sides on deepening mutual cooperation.
