A recent report by travel platform Fliggy showed that bookings for this year's upcoming eight-day Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday have started approximately 3.5 days earlier than last year.

As of Sept 12, the reservation volume for travel-related services during the holiday — including air tickets, accommodation, attraction tickets, car rentals and packaged tours — has significantly surpassed that of both last year and the year before. Bookings for multi-destination, travel-linked products like long-haul tours on Fliggy have also surged greatly.

The platform's data revealed that Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi'an, Changsha, Guangzhou and Wuhan ranked among the most popular domestic travel destinations for the holiday.

Travel centered around performances, exhibitions and sports events continued to gain prominence. Data showed that search volume on Fliggy for hotels, scenic spots and other services near venues hosting popular performances has increased by 150 percent year-on-year.

Visiting family-friendly parks, museums and experiencing traditional-style folk customs remained the top choices for parents traveling with children. Fliggy's statistics indicated that bookings for popular domestic theme parks, museums and ancient towns during the holiday have also increased greatly compared with last year.
