Chinese rowers delivered strong performances at the 2025 World Rowing Championships on Saturday in Shanghai's Qingpu district, securing one gold and two silver medals.

Liu Shuang and Jiang Jijian clinched gold in the PR2 Mixed Double Sculls final.

"This achievement means everything to me. Winning in front of our home crowd makes it even more special," Jiang said.

The Chinese team also claimed silver in the PR3 Mixed Coxed Four event. The crew, consisting of Wang Xixi, Zeng Wanbin, Wu Yunlong, Jiang Lingtao, and Yu Li, finished behind Britain in a closely contested race.

In the lightweight women's single sculls, Pan Dandan added another silver medal to China's tally, with American Michelle Sechser taking gold.

The championships feature integrated para-rowing events alongside regular competitions, making it unique among world championships promoting inclusive sports participation.

"This platform allows us para-athletes to showcase our abilities alongside able-bodied athletes," Jiang shared. "The harmony between para-athletes and able-bodied competitors demonstrates that we're all athletes pursuing excellence. We shine together on the lake, and it's as simple as that."

The championships have drawn participants from 55 countries and regions, featuring para-rowing and regular rowing events. The competition continues through Sunday.
