An exhibition featuring Loretta Yang's glass horse sculptures is underway at the Liuli China Museum in Shanghai in anticipation of the Year of the Horse.
Titled Belief Defines Greatness — From a Single Thought, Leaping a Thousand Miles Toward Triumph, the exhibition features more than 20 equine-themed works, including 12 new creations by Yang, a veteran glass artist of 40 years.
Yang is the founder of Liuligongfang, a leading glass art studio of China dedicated to the revival of the traditional Pate-de-verre techniques. The series of glass sculptures "carries forth our creative tradition and persistence, crystallizing decades of artistic and technical exploration in Pate-de-verre," Yang said at the opening on Sept 25.
