Former official of sports body under investigation
Chen Yingbiao, a former official of the General Administration of Sports of China, is being investigated for suspected serious violations of Party disciplines and national laws, China's top anti-corruption watchdogs announced on Saturday.
The investigation is currently being led by a team from the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision stationed at the administration, as well as the supervisory body in Hebei province.
The commissions disclosed the investigation online, with no further details released.
Publicly available information shows that Chen began working for the administration in early 2015, holding positions at its various management centers, such as those on weightlifting, wrestling and judo sports, and winter sports.
In June 2018, he served as director of the balls sports management center, and at that time, he was also elected as the president of the Chinese Hockey Association.
In November 2021, he became the head of the National Olympic Sports Center with the administration. In October 2024, he retired from the position.
