President Xi Jinping has expressed China's readiness to work with Ghana to upgrade cooperation in various fields and make greater contributions to building an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.

He made the remarks on Tuesday in a meeting with Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama in Beijing.

Xi called on the two countries to jointly implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in 2024, explore diversified cooperation models, expand cooperation in various fields, including mining, energy, infrastructure construction, agriculture and fisheries, and help Ghana turn its resource advantages into development momentum.

He expressed hope that Ghana will benefit at an early date from China's zero-tariff treatment for 100 percent tariff lines for African countries with which it has diplomatic relations.

This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of China-Ghana diplomatic ties.

Mahama expressed gratitude for China's support and help for Ghana through cooperation under the framework of FOCAC and the Belt and Road Initiative, saying that it is committed to deepening its ties with China.

He expressed hope that Ghana will strengthen cooperation with China in trade, the digital economy, infrastructure construction, energy, mining, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
