The 2nd World Indoor Kite Championships soared into action on Oct 18 at the gymnasium of Weifang University, filling the air with color, creativity, and a truly international spirit.

As part of the autumn edition of the 2025 Weifang Kite Carnival, the event has drawn top kite flyers from 14 countries and regions, including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Singapore, and Malaysia, to compete and perform in the "Kite Capital of the World".
This year's edition features a total of ten programs: four professional competition events and six performance categories. The competitions test both technical precision and artistic flair, while the performances highlight the elegance and creativity of kite flying through choreography, design, and theatrical expression.

The opening night captivated audiences with a mesmerizing fusion of sport and art. Kites of every shape and size, from graceful ballet kites to majestic dragon-like centipedes, danced across the indoor arena, accompanied by dazzling dance, traditional opera, and fashion performances. The seamless blend of motion, music, and imagination transformed the gymnasium into a world of wonder, where tradition met modern creativity.

For Weifang, renowned globally as the birthplace of kite culture, the event signifies more than a competition; it is a celebration of innovation, craftsmanship, and cultural connection.
