Getting there: You can fly to Wuyishan Airport from major cities such as Beijing and Guangzhou in Guangdong province. Alternatively, high-speed trains connect Nanping with Fuzhou, Xiamen and other major cities in Fujian. From the airport or train station to the scenic area, a taxi costs around 40 yuan ($5.6). Fuzhou is about a two-hour train ride from Wuyishan (Mount Wuyi).
Transportation: Wuyishan National Park has a well-organized shuttle bus system linking major attractions such as the Nine-bend River, Tianyou Peak, and the Dahongpao Scenic Area. Buses run frequently and ride-hailing apps are also available for more flexible travel. Fuzhou boasts an efficient metro and bus network. Popular attractions such as Sanfang Qixiang and West Lake Park are within 15 to 20 minutes by taxi from most downtown hotels.
Accommodation: Hotels and guesthouses near the Wuyishan scenic area are convenient choices, with prices ranging from 200 to 400 yuan per night. For a more local experience, traditional wooden homestays along the river offer tea-tasting sessions and mountain views. In Fuzhou, Gulou district is ideal for easy access to historical and shopping areas, with mid-range hotels priced from 250 to 500 yuan per night. Boutique guesthouses in Sanfang Qixiang feature traditional courtyards and peaceful surroundings.
