Xizang's GDP up 7.1% in Jan-Sept
        
 
 The Xizang autonomous region recorded a GDP of 207 billion yuan ($29 billion) in the first three quarters of this year, representing a 7.1 percent year-on-year increase at constant prices, local authorities said at a news conference in Lhasa on Friday.
According to the region's statistics bureau, the added value of Xizang's primary industry reached 15.88 billion yuan, up 10.6 percent year-on-year. The secondary and tertiary industries expanded by 8.4 percent and 6 percent respectively, with added values of 81.75 billion yuan and 109.38 billion yuan.
The agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery sectors maintained steady growth, achieving a total output value of 20.18 billion yuan in the first nine months, a year-on-year increase of 10.6 percent.
Residents' incomes also saw solid gains, with per capita disposable income standing at 23,357 yuan, up 7.3 percent from a year earlier.
In addition, tourism continued to be a major growth driver. The region received 63.7 million domestic and international visits in the first three quarters, up 11.2 percent year-on-year.
