The Ministry of Maritime Affairs organised a special event at Gwadar Port as part of the nationwide Maritime Week celebrations, showcasing the growing importance of Pakistan’s maritime sector.
Under the guidance of Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Chairman Noor-ul-Haq Baloch, students and faculty members from Government Girls Degree College, Gwadar, participated in the event. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about maritime opportunities and Pakistan’s expanding blue economy.
Chairman Noor-ul-Haq Baloch emphasised that the maritime sector holds vast potential, especially for women aspiring to build careers in trade, logistics, and port operations. He noted that Gwadar Port continues to play a key role in driving economic growth and enhancing regional connectivity.
During the visit, students were briefed on the strategic and economic importance of the maritime industry in global trade and sustainable development. They also toured major facilities, including the China Business Centre, Gwadar Free Zone, and the desalination plant, gaining first-hand insight into port operations and ongoing commercial projects contributing to Pakistan’s development.
