New cultural park brings Song poem to life in Jinan
China's first Song-poem-themed park, Rumengling, opened to the public on Nov 29 in the Jinan Start-up Area for Growth Drivers Transformation, providing a new cultural landmark for the city.
Named after Li Qingzhao's famous poem Like a Dream, the park displays the stories and poems of Li Qingzhao (1084–1155), a renowned female poet from Jinan during the Song Dynasty (960–1279).
By combining Jinan's cultural heritage with modern technologies, Rumengling offers visitors an immersive cultural and interactive experience. The park's design enhances its cultural offerings, with a layout and structures inspired by classical gardens that harmonize with the surrounding landscape.
Advanced technologies let visitors explore different stages of Li Qingzhao's life through musical dramas and other performances. Interactive activities allow guests to engage with Song Dynasty traditions, including games like pitch-pot, a Chinese tossing game.
A night market within the park blends Jinan's local culture with daily life in the Song Dynasty, featuring signature delicacies, photography spots, and cultural creative items.
