Despite the coordinated demand slump in the US and European countries, China's exports could gain traction from trading with major developing countries in the post crisis era, Yi Xiaozhun, deputy minister of commerce, said Saturday in Beijing.

Though demand from the developed world may shrink after the global recession, there is no need to be pessimistic about China's exports as the world could see trade between developing countries rising significantly in the future, Yi said during the two-day Global Think Tank Summit.

Many experts attending the summit agreed that it would take two to three years for global trade to recover.

The first Global Think Tank Summit will be held in Beijing from July 2-4, where close to 100 top-notch think tanks from home and abroad will be represented, including the Brookings Institution.
