BEIJING - President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders arrived at Tian'anmen Rostrum in central Beijing Tuesday for a grand evening gala to mark the 70th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
After its founding on October 1, 1949, the People's Republic of China (PRC) has gone through various difficulties to strengthen its hold on power. Many changes were brought to the Chinese, including the women. With the issuance of the PRC's first law, the Marriage Law, Chinese women had more say on their life.
At 3:00 pm on October 1, 1949, the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China was held on Tian'anmen Square in Beijing. The first Chinese leader Mao Zedong announced, "The People's Republic of China and the Central People's Government are now established!" Mao pressed a button, and the Five-Starred Red Flag began to rise slowly. Since then, China has entered a new era.
Monthslong rehearsals have become treasured personal memories for people taking part in Tuesday's grand parade in Beijing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China,
