Airlines to claim Boeing compensation

China Southern Airlines Co Ltd and Hainan Airlines Co Ltd, the first Chinese customers of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, are negotiating with the US aircraft giant over compensation payments for delivery delays, the Beijing Times reported on Thursday. China Southern, the first Chinese carrier expected to take delivery of a Dreamliner on May 30, has already lodged a claim with Boeing, the carrier said. Hainan Airlines, which will receive its first Dreamliner early next month, is also expected to negotiate with Boeing on delays over its delivery, the newspaper reported. Four Chinese airlines have ordered 41 Dreamliners. The first delivery has been delayed for almost three years.
