A set of special postage stamps featuring Longxing Monastery, an ancient Buddhist monastery located near the town of Zhengding of North Chin's Hebei province, was released on June 26, 2016.

The Monastery was first built in 586 during the Sui Dynasty (AD 581-618) and its original name was Longcang Monastery. It is now open to the public as a museum.

The whole set of the special stamps consists of two kinds of stamps and will have a nominal value of 2.7 yuan.

The stamps showcase the ancient architecture, a national cultural heritage of the monastery.

The first stamp depicts the Hall of Moni and a colorful wooden carving of Guanyin sitting in a grotto. The other depicts the Main Hall and a bronze statue of a thousand-hand Guanyin.

The special stamp set was issued by China Post to carry on the historical culture and to show the image of Zhengding ancient town.
