An Australian parachute jumper was seriously injured in his trial jump in Shanghai Tuesday morning before the international parachute jumping show.

Roland Simpson, 35, head of the Australian association of parachute jumping, was immediately rushed to the hospital. The operation is still going on right now.

Simpson jumped from China's tallest building, the 400-meter high Shanghai Jinmao Tower, as planned but did not land safely. The cause of accident was still under investigation.

The jumping show which began on Tuesday afternoon was carried on schedule. Thirty-eight jumpers from 16 countries attended this year's performance.
