Inter Milan, Chelsea, AC Milan perfect

Inter Milan, Chelsea and AC Milan stayed perfect on Wednesday as the Champions League group stage reached the halfway mark.

Chelsea converted first-half headers from John Terry and Eidur Gudjohnsen, defeating CSKA Moscow 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in London for its third victory.

Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho is undefeated in 14 straight Champions League matches, which includes last season with champion FC Porto. He fended off questions about striker Adrian Mutu, who tested positive for cocaine use and is facing a possible two-year ban.

"The players don't deserve their manager speaking about other players," Mourinho said. "I won't speak about players who didn't participate in this game."

English league leader Arsenal was held to a 2-2 draw at Greek champion Panathinaikos. Thierry Henry gave Arsenal a 2-1 lead in the 74th, but Emmanuel Olisadebe got the equalizer in the 82nd.

In other results, AC Milan defeated Barcelona 1-0; Werder Bremen topped Anderlecht 2-1; Paris Saint-Germain beat Porto 2-0; PSV Eindhoven beat Rosenborg 2-1; and Shakhtar Donetsk defeated Glasgow Celtic 3-0.

Inter Milan got second-half goals from five different players in their victory, giving the team nine points to lead its group.

AC Milan also stayed perfect, thanks to Andriy Shevchenko's goal in the 31st minute. Barcelona entered the game with a perfect record.

Porto and Celtic are in trouble. Porto has only one point and is set to become the first defending champion ousted in the group stage, while the Scots have lost all three games.

The only other undefeated team after three games is Juventus, which defeated Bayern Munich 1-0 on Tuesday.

Each team still has three games to play with the top two from each of the eight groups moving to the knock-out second stage. Though it's not mathematically certain, the four clubs with perfect records are almost sure to advance.
