Lead actress of 'The Scarlet Letter' commits suicide

A popular South Korean movie actress, who played a gloomy mistress committing suicide in the film "The Scarlet Letter," hung herself on Tuesday, local police said.

Lee Eun-joo, 25, was found dead by her elder brother at her apartment in Seongnam, just a few kilometers south of Seoul, they said.

The 24-year old star of the awards winning film "Taegukgi" left an letter to her mother and brother saying that she wanted to work, but found it hard to live.

Lee Eun Joo has tried to commit suicide twice since she finished shooting of the film ''Scarlet Letter" in October last year.
