Muslim world protests over caricatures

Palestinian youths burn the Danish national flag during a demonstration in Al-Eizariya, on the edge of Jerusalem February 5, 2006. A wave of anger has swept the Muslim world over the publication of the cartoons, one of which shows the Prophet Mohammad wearing a turban shaped like a bomb. The cartoons were first printed in Denmark and later in other European countries. Muslim outrage boiled over on Saturday when Syrians set fire to the Danish and Norwegian embassies, badly damaging the buildings. [Reuters] |
