The Chengdu Tianfu New Area + Chengdu downtown = Chengdu’s development core of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone

The Chengdu-Chongqing city agglomeration, with Chengdu and Chongqing as the core of the economic zone, is an important growth pole for West China development.

They are referred as “the fourth pole of the national development.” The Chengdu Tianfu New Area, on the basis of reconstructing an industrial base for Chengdu, will inject new vitality for the development of the economy in the Sichuan province and the western inland China.

The Chengdu Tianfu New Area and the downtown Chengdu jointly constitute the development core of Chengdu for the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone. The center Chengdu is to optimize the development zones and give priority to improving traditional service functions. It will give first place to the culture, commerce and finance functions.

The Chengdu Tianfu New Area is a key zone for development with new-type city functions including science and technology, business, cultural administration, a modern manufacturing base and a high-tech industrial base.
