“起步價(jià)”怎么說(shuō)？

上海的朋友一定不會(huì)對(duì)下面這則新聞感到陌生：“從5月11日起，上海市區(qū)的出租車(chē)起步價(jià)由目前的10元/3公里調(diào)整為11元/3公里；超過(guò)3公里后，每公里運(yùn)價(jià)由現(xiàn)在的2元調(diào)整為2元1角……”有個(gè)疑問(wèn)，怎么用英文表達(dá)“起步價(jià)”？

price就是“起步價(jià)”的相應(yīng)英文表達(dá)。Flag-fall（比賽開(kāi)始）本是體育術(shù)語(yǔ)，尤其在田徑比賽時(shí)，很形象地描述出了“裁判手中的小紅旗朝下一揮，比賽立馬開(kāi)始”的情景。隨著計(jì)程車(chē)的使用，flag-fall（比賽開(kāi)始）逐漸由體育術(shù)語(yǔ)延伸為與人們生活密切相關(guān)的“起步（價(jià)）”。
另外，既然提到了flag，忍不住想起了Dido那首對(duì)愛(ài)執(zhí)著、為愛(ài)不言放棄的《White flag》，摘幾句歌詞：

flag直譯為“白旗”，實(shí)質(zhì)上表達(dá)的可是與surrender（投降）相同的意思哦。例如：
A white flag is used as a token of surrender.（白旗被用來(lái)作為投降的信號(hào)。）
He had to show the white flag at the end of the
debate.（辯論到最后他只好認(rèn)輸。）
