Jennifer Figge (see photo), a 56-year-old American athlete, has become the 1st woman on record to swim the Atlantica recently - a dream she'd had since she was a little girl. Battling waves of up to 9m, she took 24 days to swim from the Cape Verde islands off Africa to Trinidad. Each day the swimmer would spend up to 8 hours in the water before returning to her support boat.
近日，56歲的美國(guó)健兒詹妮弗·菲格(見(jiàn)圖)費(fèi)時(shí)24天，游泳橫渡大西洋，成為世界上第一位完成這一壯舉的女性，一圓兒時(shí)夢(mèng)想。她在南非佛得角下水，頂著9米高的巨浪，游向特立尼達(dá)島。她每天要在水中游8個(gè)小時(shí)才上船補(bǔ)充體力。
