The 2013 China (Bozhou) Peony Tourism and Culture Festival is accepting mascot submissions from the public. The deadline has been extended from April 30 to May 30.
Since the start of the activity, the number of entries has totaled 96, 22 of which were sent in on paper. The contestants hail from Hubei, Jiangsu, Henan, Anhui and Shanghai.
The mascot must represent the features of the peony and reflect its local historical, regional and cultural characteristics. The winner will be awarded 3,000 yuan ($485), and three other nominees will get 300 yuan ($48) each. All four award winners will receive corresponding certificates.
