Although missing out on the title of woman’s TT (twin tip) racing course in the 2014 Pingtan International Kiteboarding World Cup, Chen Jingle was able to keep her dismay at bay.

“I am still young. The lesson is well learnt through the game. And I will work harder to make progress,” she said.

Chen was a promising kitesurfer from Pingtan county in Fujian province. Battling a leg injury, she was leading all competitors half way through the final of the course when she slipped and fell.

When she reached shore, a tearful Chen was welcomed by cheers and applause from her folks.

“It is really encouraging to see them being kind to me. I am really moved,” said Chen.

Roose Katja from the Netherlands won the match. She also secured the title for 2014 at the program.
