An art troupe of some 20 people from Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province, staged a Chinese folk art exhibition in Saint-Denis, France from Aug 8 to 20.
The art exchange event took place at the biennial Guandi Temple Culture Festival in Saint-Denis. Performers highlighted the folk culture and arts of Shanxi province, especially traditional drumming, during the 12-day visit.
Taiyuan and Saint-Denis established a sister-city relationship in 2012. Traditional Chinese culture has influenced Saint-Denis, and the city now regularly hosts Chinese culture festivals.
