According to the Tai'an customs, in the first half of the year, Tai'an exported 93 batches of processed food, such as edible salt and glucose, with a weight of 17,771 tons and a cargo value of $1.61 million, a year-on-year growth of 43 percent, 50 percent, and 26 percent respectively.

"In recent years, the city's food processing enterprises have explored and expanded foreign markets, and the export volume of processed food has grown for many years in a row," said Kong Congcong, an official from Tai'an customs.

According to Kong, Tai'an customs has followed up the exports work, as well as provided policy guidance and customs inspection services to local food processing enterprises, helping them go global in a better and faster manner.

Tai'an customs also gave advice to the transformation and upgrading of the quality management system and production workshops of several food processing enterprises, helping them to improve self-checking and self-tracking management.

In order to help local enterprises better expand their markets in the countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, Tai'an customs has studied and collected relevant laws, regulations, and technical requirements on product packaging, quality, sanitation, as well as other aspects to help local enterprises avoid trade risks.

It has also publicized and enforced preferential export policies such as place of origin to improve the international competitiveness of local products.

In addition, Tai'an customs has also advanced reform to delegate power, streamline administration, and optimize government services to provide a good environment for the fast-track customs clearance of local products.
