UK's Tesco is trying to shock customers into shelling out with a new hot-pink variety of apple with the uniquely irritating name, the Surprize, foreign media reported. Tesco says that the apples taste as good as they look. This wouldn't be the first "quirky" fruit to grab the headlines, only to disappear without trace. For instance, the pineberry was an unnervingly pale, pineapple-flavored strawberry stocked by the supermarket chain Waitrose for a few short weeks back in 2010.
