More than 100,000 visitors have flocked to view the Beautiful Beijing photography exhibition since it opened at the Capital Museum on Feb 5 this year, Qianlong.com reported.

The 316 images were taken on a number of important occasions, ranging from 2008 Beijing Olympics, the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China in 2009, to the 18th Communist Party of China National Congress in 2012. People are the main focus on every photo.

Launched in 2012, the Beautiful Beijing photography contest has received more than 40,000 pieces of work, including 3,700 taken by foreigners from 63 countries.

The exhibition will last till May 19, and people are able to visit for free from 9am to 5pm except on Mondays.
