Cultural symbols of Nanjing, such as yunjin brocade and the Ming Dynasty City Wall will showcase their charming beauty at the 2016 London Design Festival, which runs from Sept 17 to 25.

One of the highlights of the Nanjing Week in London is that works of Tang Xianzu (A.D. 1550-1616) and William Shakespeare (A.D. 1564-1616), drama masters from China and England, will be staged at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre during the event.

Artists from Nanjing will perform Tang’s famous Kunqu opera "The Peony Pavilion" and Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the theater to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the two master wordsmiths.

The London Design Festival has prepared a special exhibition area for Nanjing companies to display creative, cultural and industrial designs, as well as electrical and smart home products, according to Di Qing from Nanjing Creative Design Center.
